I’m seeing a lot about donating to the families of school shooting victims—can we also make sure the teachers get a little? They’re left with a lifetime of trauma too.

Therapy is not cheap.

Any chance Trump & RFK Jr. could donate their brains (if not their bodies) to science? We may never see their autopsies, but at least future generations could know what to look for in and brain scans of presidential and cabinet candidates—so we don’t end up here again

In 2004 I would be appointed (once again) by President Bush to serve on a Commission to advise the Congress & White House on the future of NASA, which led to this report: neildegrassetyson.com/media/pdf/MoonToMarsFinalReport.pdf

At no time was basic science seen as a luxury in need of a chainsaw.

There's no shame in experiencing symptoms, reactions, or exhaustion, even if & when others "have it worse." It's not a competition, & belittling our own struggle doesn't help anyone else-- it's just a sneaky way Trauma Brain gets us to judge ourselves & sabotage our recovery.

Trauma survivors in recovery don't need to be "saved"-- we need to be seen. We don't need to be "fixed"-- we need to be supported.

We don't want to be "coddled." We want to be empowered.

The 5 stages of grief were never meant for the living.

There are no 5 stages of grief. The author of that study wished she had never written it when it became the popular standard. The stages were meant for the dying. Not the survivors who live in the wake of the death. #5stages #grief #loss #death

Maybe we use the long MLK holiday weekend to break free from the BS, come together as a community, and ditch platforms that amplify hate. French groups are urging a mass exodus from X on Jan 20—why not start now? Let’s build digital spaces rooted in respect and reason.
French movement asks X users to leave platform on US inauguration day
The French Human Rights League (LDH) is asking the public to join them in a mass exodus of X, formerly Twitter, on January 20.

The Geography Of Sorrow
The work of the mature person is to carry grief in one hand and gratitude in the other and to be stretched large by them. How much sorrow can I hold? That’s how much gratitude I can give.

I lost my love, my life, that night. Everything I was before you died went with you. I either have to rebuild or follow you. Most days I'm still unsure which to chose.

Your loss is valid. Your grief is exactly as painful as you feel it. You have a 1000+ futures that are no longer possible, you get to grieve every single one.
