Perhaps it is alarmist, but one of the easiest ways for the current administration to silence dissenting voices would be to go after the ways in which information is rapidly spread, ie social media. (6/7)

The governor of Utah has already gone on the record condemning social media as a “cancer on our society” and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar sentiment echoed by others in the near future. (5/7)

Based on what I have been seeing as I attempt to stay caught up with the endless stream of news, I suspect that the social media landscape may go through some drastic changes in the near future. (4/7)

In the wake of the events that transpired this week, there have been threats that sent multiple HBCUs into lockdown, calls for revenge on the left, disgusting displays of misplaced honor, and discussions of radicalization when the guilty party was found to not fit into an assumed identity. (3/7)

I am genuinely concerned for what the future will bring in the coming days, weeks, months, etc., so that means we need to strengthen our connections to our communities. (2/7)

There are school shootings and CHILDREN are losing their lives and they’re barely a month into the school year, and there is hardly a whisper on the national news platforms. There is what seems to be performative outrage and the solution seems to always be “thoughts and prayers.” (5/8)

Frankly, I find it disgusting that there are so many stories about Kirk clogging the headlines when Melissa Hortman’s assassination was out of the headlines almost as soon as it happened. (4/8)

This whole idea that we cannot call out the dead is, in my opinion, bullshit because is one was a terrible person in life, that should not be forgotten just because they happen to be dead. (3/8)

Kirk was a person who spread hateful rhetoric and contributed to the violence that happens every day to those in marginalized communities without making the headlines. Just because of how his life ended it does not mean that we should ever dance around that fact. (2/8)
