Representation in the #artworld matters — we need to try harder to uplift marginalized voices whilst making art education more accessible! Not everyone can afford to go to the next big exhibition in a big city that also costs an arm & a leg to visit either!

Personally, I love a painting within a painting 🥰

This detail of a stunning Brazilian painting found in the Pelotas Library was a beautiful hidden gem in my visit 🎨🖌️

What are some of your favorite “paintings within a painting”? 💫

On Feb. 14th I try always to give honor to one of the greatest contributors to American democracy in our nation’s history, Frederick Douglass. Born into slavery, Douglass never knew his actual birthdate, and adopted Feb. 14th as the day. His penetrating insights about our country inspire me daily.

I thought this was a cute shirt at first glance, but it only got better upon closer inspection - I love it 🤣🫶🏻

I wonder which art collection this statue belongs to & in which Museum Gallery it’s displayed 🤔 hmmm

One of my favorite things to do is sketch statues in museums & get an understanding of form & perspective! 💫

Here’s my sketch of a statue of a woman from the V&A, back when I was living in London 💌 x

(Hands are still a work-in-progress for me)

Font Vert (green ground), introduced in 1756, defined Sèvres porcelain's mid-18th century elegance. The c.1756 Pot à sucre Hébert’s vivid glaze embodies Rococo's nature-inspired opulence, showing how colour shaped design and taste. 🌿✨ #Rococo #Sèvres #ArtHistory #Porcelain #MadamedePompadour #Green

Hues developed at Sèvres, such as Fond Vert and Pompadour Pink, became synonymous with Pompadour. These shades featured in both the manufactory’s creations and her renowned portraits, including the Munich Portrait (1756) and Madame de Pompadour at her Toilette (1750) by François Boucher💫 #ArtHistory

Madame de Pompadour understood the power of colour 💖💚 Check out my new article for The Colour Club!

I would like to dedicate this work to the recently departed Dame Rosalind Savill who is an inspiration of mine in this field & who too loved Pompadour ❤️
