That is EXACTLY what I'm saying. One person saying their grief is 'worse' is a really shit thing to say to someone else who is grieving.

It's nothing to do with 'me' per se but if someone has had a death in the family, you figure the best thing to say to them is "My budgie died, that's worse." Grief is immeasurable, you can't say one is worse than the other. It can be just as bad, for sure.

There is no "worse". Anyone who has lost a pet and a beloved human will tell you. It is just as bad, but not 'worse'.
