This is the only shot I got with the Charmera at lunch at Dogfish Head Brewing & Eats in Rehoboth Beach today because apparently the camera can only count to 255, and will tell you the card is full and only save to internal memory. The beer was good.

We left Florida for home today. Laura is a big fan of Banana Ball, in particular the Savannah Bananas. I suggested she look up if they had a gift shop. They do. So we made a slight detour and visited.

Breakfast at The Blue Hen

We had breakfast at The Blue Hen this morning, a restaurant we were introduced to by my mom several years and one location ago. #Charmera

Not Capybaras

The Capybara Cafe has an outer area where you can meet other animals. Shown here are baby goats, a tortoise, and a macaw.

Capybara Cafe

My wife is a little crazy. She gets an idea into her head and it won’t let go. Which is how I found myself hanging with some capybaras this evening, feeding them kale from my hands. It was a hoot.

We like tintypes. I discovered that there is a tintypist in St. Augustine. So I made an appointment and we got our picture taken.

Finding treasures.

I have a lot of our old family photos, but I didn’t have this one. My dad had a timer for his Polaroid 250, which he clearly used to get this photo of him, my mom, and me on the couch in our house on Newport Drive in Sterling Heights.

My Wife's Favorite Rest Stop

Laura fell in love with Buc-ee's on a trip to Charleston last year. I'm slightly less enamored of the place, but it was fun to use my Charmera there this afternoon.

A non-photographer friend of mine sent me this book, which arrived in today’s mail. It’s a pop culture exploration of the history of photography through the 19th century into the early years of the 20th. I knew a fair amount of what’s inside, but learned a lot as well. Flashes of Brilliance. 👍

Leaves

Most of our leaves have fallen, but there are still a fair amount on the trees. I figured it would be interesting to see how the Charmera saw them.

It’s pictures. Maybe not as fully developed as they could be; the negatives are a little thin. Tried Divided D-76 on HP5+. I think it needs longer in bath 2.

Walked to the end of my property to escape trees and then around the corner to escape lights and saw this. Mostly clouds, but maybe a bit of aurora just above the clouds. Nothing spectacular here, but maybe something.

Bored, so I’m making cyanotypes with the UV exposure box I made a few years ago and then never used. Fingers crossed.

One of the friends I was hanging in PA with a week ago who is also a photographer was given a Speed Graphic. In the box with it was this camera, a Kardon rangefinder. The story behind this camera is interesting. It’s a US copy of the Leica IIIa with origins in WWIi.
