Books, nature’s last ups
From the sprawl
Hello, climate change 😬
I can’t recall if this high tide/winter storm erosion events combo was a series of storms and high-high tides? But the drop-off it/they carved on this one little beach in the Boston Harbor area is 4-5 inches deep.

Also here for #forestfriday !

A pine barren-like forested area, fire-adapted habitat (with no fire anymore) of wind-warped pines and red cedar, with dry grasses and goldenrods growing on glacial till ❤️

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention currently has this obviously false statement across the top of the homepage, just another day in the idiocracy

This 30-40 yo red maple is the variety October Glory or something like it. Seems like the last maple to turn and it goes vivid scarlet like this just before the leaves drop. ❤️

View of a salt marsh today. Against the red, yellow, and brown colors of the deciduous trees I was seeing smaller conifers in front, which are likely red cedar. A few white pines in the background are popping up a bit over the top of the canopy.

Wasps not allowed? or maybe wasps have rented the picnic area down the path? 🤔

What a great adaptation! How do they sneeze, tho? If they sneeze 🙂

Another great bonus with growing native plants: they plant friends 🙂 you can also harvest some seed to try growing it elsewhere ofc

A bit like oaks growing from acorns, tiny goldenrod seeds can become large, resilient plants that feed all sorts of insects 💛

Blithering on the internets about this won’t do but it needs reading

I‘m reconsidering my Apple Music subscription rn 💸
it’s fine, but kind of odd in places: in Apple Classical, the “Ensemble” heading leads to these playlists. 🤔 Are there folks who think “screw duos, it’s an octet day”?
