If you wanted to perform an audit, you would hire forensic accountants, whose findings would be reviewed by someone with subject matter expertise. If you want to consolidate power to the presidency, you hire high school hackers to take down all the agencies with unilateral control.

Add to that: Oklahoma passed a law that the bible must be taught as a historical document in schools. We do actually have an earlier referendum on the GOP: There are three reps up for special election, to replace members of the cabinet. Within the next two months, it's possible to take a majority of the house. Two of them are from FL, so that would really be sending a message.

Someone else mentioned the idea of making government systems open source (at least the ones that are public-impacting). I really like that thought.

As much as most consumer open source projects are garbage: I would love to see government systems open sourced. It might just be the best use of the design philosophy. Accountability in code, an opportunity for public contribution, crowdsourced bug correction…

It doesn't actually, though. They're two separate national parks that just happen to be touching. It's just like how Kansas City doesn't span across Missouri and Kansas. There are two Kansas Cities, one in Missouri, one in Kansas, and they happen to touch at the state line.
