Finally, in the long term, these cuts to public information are going to further isolate and polarize rural communities from fact based journalism, world news and free access to information that's in the public interest (aka not cable and not Facebook.) That math speaks for itself. /f

In the medium term, the cuts to foreign aid will further destabilize regions and countries tied to the US in various ways. Destabilization is proven to lead to conflict and migration, which in trade math is bad - stable countries are stable partners.

In the short-term, these cuts to public information are going to further screw up your weather and emergency alerts - we just had flash floods last week and alerts didn't go out (that's a problem from a combo of city and federal failures.)

@npr.org and @wnyc.org, I just donated to the national network and my local station.

But I'm wondering...are there stations most at risk of extinction due to this fed funding cut? would love to pay it forward in the name of freedom of information.

Childcare costs are up 43-79% since 2019 in #NYC (home vs center care), meaning a family needs to earn $334k to comfortably have 1 kid in daycare.

Kind of a big deal if NYC wants to continue to attract #talent and #innovation.

Anecdotally around NYC, it’s been a little quieter.
