Maryland’s 90 day general assembly ended on Monday evening. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was born out of the last financial crisis & has returned $21 billion in relief for 200 million consumers. Now it has been infiltrated by the DOGE Bros who are trying to end the CFPB’s work. If you are in the area, rally to protect democracy & the CFPB.

October was a blur. I got back from my writing retreat, caught up on work, and life. Then, the election. Then analyzing & figuring out a way forward. So in that blur, I missed that my poem had come out alongside some fantastic writers in the October issue of About Place journal.

Thanksgiving (with sausage links & dark gravy) as well as turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, cornbread stuffing, Brussels sprouts with bacon, balsamic vinegar & maple syrup. Dessert may be eaten later tonight or over the weekend.

Went to the sneak preview of this beautiful event at the National Aquarium. A musician created a composition based on feedback loops of algal blooms in the Patuxent River. The composition changes based on audience interaction. Gorgeous and moving immersive experience of film, music, & sea creatures.
