Knitting is part of my strategy for health. This lovely pile of Cascade 220 will be a sweater for my boy, who asked for #sagassweater

Termination notices going out this afternoon to more than 300 employees of the National Cancer Institute. Access likely ends today. Four weeks paid leave and that’s it.

Strong power move for Team Cancer.

In one of Elon’s outcries about fraud, he actually ended up cutting funding for cancer research. Despite initially denying it, he was later proven wrong. This incident highlights how little he actually understands about what he’s doing.

I knit so I don’t go crazy. Today I spent some time picking out new yarn because this is the year I teach myself how to knit socks, and my sister gave me a gift card to a beautiful LYS.

My buddy this morning. She has usually ignored me for large portions of the day in favor of sitting on our bed or her living room perch to keep a wary eye on the neighborhood. Today she’s curled up under my desk keeping my feet warm ❤️

When I was studying for the U.S. citizenship exam, there were definitely only 3 branches. There was also a question about how citizens can take part in democracy, and contacting your elected representatives is definitely one of the correct answers.
I’m old enough to remember when we had 3 branches of government. Forget checks and balances. I guess we are a Muskocracy now.

Trump’s former FDA commissioner on RFK Jr and vaccines today.

“If he follows through on his intentions … it will cost lives,” said @scottgottliebmd.bsky.social.

This! I was pleasantly surprised to learn that we could submit our first-time US passport applications at the library! It was a great experience, our last stop on the new citizen journey.
I say again, support your local public libraries!

We visited ours today to file our toddler’s first-ever passport application. It’s a major public service not all libraries offer, so we are super thankful this is a thing here. The whole process took just an hour (including a stop for pastries).
