de Toth’s House Of Wax is such a fun watch that you just have to admire how Collet-Serra’s ‘05 remake not only re-applied this films concept into more of a ‘00s teen slasher, but did it so effectively.

Vincent Price is excellent in this and the atmosphere is so fitting for spooky season.

caught both ROOFMAN and KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN today.

two great films that will end up in my best of 2025 list.

Both are also two different kinds of emotional and I love that.

Support these films!

So I've got SINNERS & THE BRUTALIST as my two favorite films of the year but I feel like if I rewatched some other releases that could change depending on the day.

FREAKY TALES, MICKEY 17, THUNDERBOLTS*, DANGEROUS ANIMALS & BRING HER BACK were all excellent and MATERIALISTS might be in there too.

everything from its premise, it’s brutality, the message of the film, Skarsgard and Hopkins are great in this, a HEALTH TRACK IN THE END CREDITS?

LOCKED was a damn good thriller, can’t wait to catch this again.

also on my substack!

The more I sit with the film the more love what Mark Anthony Green did with this.

Can’t wait to see what he does next!

(Also him being a formal journalist adds so much more to this film’s message)

Caught Mark Anthony Green’s OPUS!

An unsettling tale that doesn’t shy away from some gore and disturbing imagery and it’s a fun time in bits. Rodgers & The-Dream’s soundtrack was cool.

Need more Ayo in horror projects!

Didn’t realize this year’s THE AMATEUR is a re-adaptation of a 1981 novel of the same name. Had a film that year too with Christopher Plummer and it’s on Disney+ 👀

*watches RED ROOMS*

“Oh wow this is getting intense”

*Rina Sawayama’s This Hell starts playing*

CHOPPING MALL being a cult classic just makes so much sense, a niche slasher but it feels so grand.

first time watch tonight and everything from the set design, the look of the robots and the kills were handled with so much care.

love Chuck Cirino’s score for this.

This was great all across the board!

A tale of two shepherding families pitted by one bad move.

Tense, brutal and Act 2 changes the narrative almost entirely. Loved Keoghan in this and my love for Abbot as a talent grows with every flick.

Christopher Andrews directed the hell out of this.

really loving AMC’s A-List service, have the day off and catching a showing of BRING THEM DOWN.

going in mostly blind, I just know it’s a revenge thriller-drama with Christopher Abbot and Barry Keoghan. 😅

watching DEVOUR (2005) and it has the most early 2000s opening credits I’ve ever seen for a horror movie lol (this is a positive)

love what Josh Reuben and the team did with #HeartEyes.

It’s exactly what I wanted, fun horror comedy with a Rom-Com at its center and Gooding and Holt are great together.

It’s hilarious and oh so bloody.

Loved the police station sequence! Go see it!

#musicsky pay attention to what Sasami is doing right now, i have NOT been able to get any of these out of my head.

Did not mind this at all. For sure, it feels a little rushed in the last 20-minutes but that’s every movie in this series.

Eubanks and Landon find a way to breathe new life into the franchise, bringing in a folklore angle that mostly worked for me.

Major BLAIR WITCH + OUTLAST vibes here.

the introduction to the Cyclops story in STOPMOTION hitting immediately just gets you so excited for what’s to come.

that is such great writing 😭.

thought the Zucheros’s LOVE ME had a nice message about what it means to be human told through a slightly experimental lens, the use of the internet and it’s influence what it says about Earth after it’s extinction was a nice touch.

Stewart and Yeun are really good together.

Really dug this one

I’d love to point out that there have only been two FINAL DESTINATION films that have used red in their promotional material.

Coincidence? Yeah probably, but it’s something neat either way.

A tight 90-minute Sci-Fi/Horror that absolutely worked for me!

Loving Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid with every project they do.

Drew Hancock weaves this story and it’s message extremely well, will make a fun revisit,

COMPANION rules.

it really does hurt not wanting to support SCREAM 7.

That series was pivotal in making me want to pursue film as a career path, watching it get a “saving face” sequel because a studio doesn’t have a sack is just so disappointing.

Caught THE BRUTALIST yesterday.

Beautiful display of how hypocritical, cold and unwelcoming the pursuit of the American Dream is for immigrants.

The period setting makes it hit harder.

Brady Corbet crafted a modern classic.

everything about SINNERS is 100% for me.

Robert Rodriguez, Carpenter influences?

I’m assuming the Coen influences could be with the dialogue?

This shot is giving me so much life, Jordan and Coogler are about to give us another classic.

Mike Leigh’s HARD TRUTHS…what a film.

Marianne Jean-Baptiste’s performance broke me.
