I hit page 247 of this beauty to find about 1/3 of the remaining 100 pages are uncut. I am carefully opening the rest, and reading pages that no eye has fallen upon in the 99 years since they were published. A happy reader, am I. 💙📚 #BookSky #Literature #Reading #Books

Old school. Well… it was school, school. But you understand.

Thrilled to have finally landed this book. A beautiful 1st edition from 1880. Covers English literature from 670 to the second half of the 19th century. 📚💙 #booksky #literature #writing

A great little find. Published in 1955. $1.50. Thrift stores are a great place to search for older book. #booksky 💙📚 #literature

Plautus holds a special place in comedy history. I now own his 20 surviving plays in the original Latin! These volumes were printed 1830-1833. I just spent 2 hours cleaning them. Looks to be a lectio volutpat vestibulum. Cheers! 📚💙 #booksky #reading #literature #playwriting #theater #plays

I jot down ideas for stories IMMEDIATELY, and put them in a box. I cull through the box at the beginning of each season. It becomes a stock pile of kindle for the “just not feeling it” times ahead. A secret stash of creative gunpower. Sharing the idea for fellow writers. Cheers. #writing #literature

Oscar night! So, I took out this beauty this morning, just to hold it again. “You love to act. You love showbusiness. You know your history. You should have this.” It’s his program from the year he was awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. He signed it. I cried. Happy Oscars!!!

To my friends producing this evening’s SAG Awards telecast, I am wishing you a smooth night. And personally, I am pulling for my fellow Tintin alum, Daniel Craig, of course! #ScreenActorsGuild #SAGAwards #Acting

I quietly hope to remind folks of Leacock, Twain or Perelman while they read my attempts at, what my dear friend Ed Lowe used to call, the paragraph business. On a stage or on camera I am at home. A pen in hand puts me to work. And I love it. #writing #humor #humorist

Snagged a wonderful 1st edition of Wendell’s lectures at Harvard. Even more thrilled to find it belonged to C.C. Goodrich, a chemist and member of Maine’s legislature. He was the son of B.F. Goodrich - founder of Goodrich tires. (Now owned by Michelin) 💙📚 #books #booksky #writing

I only know that someone named Reba gave someone named Ada this very book 100 Christmases ago. I am reading the very same words that Ada did 10 decades ago. I wonder who will enjoy it a century hence. 💙📚 #literature #reading #books #bibliophile

While editing a collection of my own short stories for publication, I have been turning to older collections that I have acquired over time. This was published in 1927. The older I get, the further I reach back, both in literature and in comedy studies. #literature #books #shortstories
