The issue is turnover. We have massive turnover in communications. They hire 30 people maybe 5 will be working a year afterwards. I understand why. But again, not everything needs AI.

I understand how learning changes. It was taught to type 90 WPM in highschool. My colleagues are consistently shocked at how fast I type. They don't teach that anymore. However if you ask AI to show you the math on how you need to or get an answer makes sense, using it to write you an essay, no.

Thank gosh I know the dispatcher on my line. He's on top of everything. But not all of them are. I think once I had to message him and say hey someone is substantially closer to a call. He's like crap I'll get on that.

They sent a colleague of mine who does single response to nursing homes and community work, on a call 2 hours away. Legitimately took phone calls to 2 different higher ups for someone to go oh wait it put this call on the wrong unit...

Look at the Taco Bell and McDonald's AI drive thru problems alone. It is wrong many times. That's the issue with AI. There is no way you can trust it to do something 100% perfectly. They are using AI for our dispatch at work. It requires intervention 2/3 of the time.

I am NOT letting my children use AI as long as I don't have to. Researching something on your own to find the answer you are looking for is a very important part of growing and learning. It's going to create a society of these people...
