I hate Trump and I'm indifferent to TikTok. If Trump plays that game, it's up to Congress to impeach him. He's already the first president to have been impeached twice so why not go for more? I don't think they have the fortitude to do that.

It's great and all that he was formally sentenced but I think that, ultimately, it's a non-consequence. I don't buy that it was the only lawful sentence. Surely another sentence could simply have been suspended until his term was up at which point he would have to serve it.

The founders' belief in 18th/19th-century notions of honor and integrity I think blinded them to the possibility of a future president entirely lacking those qualities. They assumed public disapproval would be a sufficient deterrent to keep someone like Trump from rising to power.
