I’m actually reading it in the Italian translation - an excellent translation by Giovanni Raboni, who was a poet. But I like to cross check the French every now and then. I have a Kindle copy but it’s a pain to “flick through” to find the corresponding passages.

I’m sorry that you’re having a terrible food experience. The last thing you need when you’re in a foreign country is bad food. If you ever come back to the UK I’ll make you a well researched food itinerary for every tour stop. It’s a promise, but you have to come back 🙃

The fact that they eat live bugs for show is absolutely despicable. Maybe they should try and bite into a dog or a cat and try and eat it alive! But that would be uproar.

Here in Glasgow a wonderful lady started a group called “Happy Feet” to find pigeons with strong foot and de-string them. We are going out this Sunday again. She was interviewed on BBC Scotland a couple of months ago ☺️🐦
