Actually managed to find a proper pic of the portrait (Which was like... One click away. Really should've found that earlier. lol) and while that does kinda make this whole thing a bit of a waste of time... Hey, I wasn't that far off.

I think this is probably as good as I'm going to get. lol
Only thing I can really change is the neck, but I think I'd need to grab another darker shade from the original portrait, and then I'd have to go and implement it in the rest of the image and... Nah, no thanks.

Being like, halfway competent in pixel art, and trying to do something way out of my skill level like this is always funny, cause I just get caught up on trying to figure out what minor details are supposed to.
Like I know this is a blurry screenshot, but like... What is this supposed to be?

The big problem I gotta tackle tomorrow is definitely the hair, and seeing if I can't get an extra skin shade that works.
And I just know that by the end of this I'm gonna be too tired to actually try and do anything like this from the ground up. But might as well try and finish it now. lol

Been watching a ton of Majuular Ultima stuff recently, and got the idea to try and do a character in the style of the Ultima 7 portraits, but there wasn't anything on Spriter's Resource of it.
Gave it a go, and I'm def not done yet, but I think this ain't a *horrific* first pass...

Did a tiny amount of work on it before the OG contest got canned, but deleted all the work cause I thought it was super shoddy.
Do have a couple attempts at ghosts from when I started out with an NES idea before going with PC game instead. I'll prolly do these justice at some point.

Not much in the slightest, and very unfinished cause I wanted to relax before Dynamite, but I finally got myself to work a bit again on art stuff after a so-so couple of weeks.
