There's likely also a licensing exam with your governing body, that a graduate has to pass to practice and advance their career. Even then, there's a lot of continuing education and professional supervision, depending on your specific license. Additional certifications can also be acquired.

Friend suggested I help. Depends on your current education and location. Masters of Social Work can be ~two years if you have no SW background, and sometimes less if you got your Bachelors in it. If in USA, it is often WAY cheaper to get your MSW in state than across the country. Save your money.
