What more can you do with a gray map besides give it life with colors. Time to start working on changing brush sizes, saves time and memory space.

We got changing colors y'all! All we need now is a map and we can see how your creative minds decide to paint it.

Okay so slight mistake in the code. The whole material asset is changing color, but I want the color component of the next set of lines to change color. Any advice?

Mission Accomplished. We have paint but now I have to figure out how to make the decals change color in game. Can't have everything be red.

Using a Bullet Hole tutorial from spaderdabomb on YouTube I now know how to use decals. All I got to do now is turn bullet holes to paint splats.

“The Marriage” is a non-player game because all you do is watch. When together the squares grow but even apart they grow alone. I think it’s meant to represent how everyone grows no matter who you’re with.

In “Sibilant Snakelikes” it takes the general snake game and makes it crazier. Like Shadow of the Colossus but snake form. How you even think of that, I don’t know.

In “Freedom Bridge” you simulate crossing the bridge between North and South Korea. The game ends with a sudden gun shot, contrasting the games happy title.

In “Passage” you watch the life of your character from start to finish. The distortion of the future while young and past while old demonstrates how we perceive our future and pasts through life.

In “The Flower Game” you draw a “flower” with player input and randomness. Very interesting visuals definitely feels like you’re on something.

In “I Very Much Don’t Want to be Here” you play as a square in what seems to be a classroom. When you move your square is still but standing still makes your square have anxiety.

In “Snow Diorama” you watch as randomly generated snow falls down and sits on different platforms. Reminds me of the sugar game on CoolMathGames.

“Howling Dogs” is a text based adventure where it seems like you’re living in a bunker, kind of like a lab rat or someone from a Fallout Vault.

“Galatea” is an interactive fiction similar to “Colossal Cave Adventure” and the playability is REALLY annoying. Some prompts don’t work so you basically have to keep guessing prompts till something works.

In “Paperclips” you play as a paperclip manufacture and you have to learn how to make money. Thanks to @theatrologos.bsky.social we were able to make the big bucks for our clip empire.

“Camel Tail” is an auto story generator but it’s made up entirely of Metallica song lyrics. It’s also a part of an archive that connects to other story generators with different themes.

So in “nectar thief” you travel a garden in a text-based game. The gameplay is similar to a Twine game but the player actually gets to type instead of just clicking options.

For my "Guess the Number" program I had to add boolean values to make sure the "Guess again" message wasn't being spammed over and over again. But I also had to make sure that no message was being spammed over the course of the program.

So I decided to make a "Guess the Number" program where the whole point is to guess the randomly generated number. I wish there was an easier way to write out the user input portion though.

It's been a while since I last programmed in C#, but I have programmed in C++, so it shouldn't be too difficult to learn. This is just me messing with the Random.Range function, which I kind of enjoy working with. I believe adding randomness to games increases replayability.

After playing around in Maya, I created a movie camera. I was aiming for something old-timey, like a 1960s camera, and it really brings the whole scene together. I might make some other props, like a director's chair, to build on the fact that you're on a set.

“Out for Delivery” was a really interesting game when it comes to walking sims. You don't control the movement, only the looking. So it’s really a “looking simulator.”

In Titanic 2 you essentially experience falling to the bottom of the ocean. The walking feature is unavailable until you reach the bottom, so you spend your time just falling and looking around.

Playing The Mountain with @ratbro.bsky.social. Pretty interesting game if you consider “walking simulator” cause it takes out the walking part.
April 10, 2025 at 5:49 PM
So this game really defines a “walking simulator.” Just walk around, but it does put a fun spin to map generation since it appears to be random.
