When you're citing a fact, there is no need for an opposing view. Implying that there are "alternative facts" in this situation is both dangerous and disingenuous.
Many criticisms were vague, and the commenters often criticized the lack of opposing viewpoints. Ex: “Enslaved African Americans had no wages to pass down to descendants, no legal right to accumulate property, and individual exceptions depended on their enslavers’ whims" has no opposing views.
This story on Florida officials' effort to blunt lessons on the brutality of slavery w/"multiple viewpoints, " shows some conservatives' desperate attempt to water down the moral authority of Black Americans' historic struggle. www.miamiherald.com/news/local/e...

We had a good ten years where a bunch of nobodies like us could report on power centers and structural inequality and abuses of power and citizens from government, employers and their surrogates. The end of Twitter as that vehicle really was the end of that, which was obviously the point.

Migrating to the first social media that allows me to actually see the very interesting respected newspaper articles people link rather than a paywall. (I know. “Reasons!”)

For the months between removing the other site and bsky invite I woke up and got out of bed right away. Back to scrolling through social media for an hour after waking. Thanks bluesky 😊
