Yeah, Diamond Eyes was similar but it clicked for me more, at least rn.
I can definitely see Koi no Yokan growing on me though

180. Army of Darkness (1992 film)

This movie fucking rules.
Probably my favorite of the Evil Dead trilogy, just a blast from start to finish.
Absolute cinema

179. Deftones - Koi no Yokan (2012 album)

Definitely a different direction from Diamond Eyes and the ones that came before it.
I think I'll have to listen to what they've put out since this one to really solidify my feelings on it.
For now:

178. Mass of the Fermenting Dregs - s/t (2008 album)

A really delightful Japanese alt-rock, post-hardcore album.
Has some really good energy and fast paced instrumentals as well as some mellow ones too. A really tight 30 minute tracklist

177. Smiling Friends season 3 (2025)

Amazing season.
Features the best animation of the series so far, especially the Halloween episode.
I didn't really know what to expect from the season finale but I thought it was pretty excellent.
Really excited for more to come

175. Invader Zim (2001-2006 animated series)

Pretty consistently funny series with a lot of quotable lines and delightfully dark episodes
I can see how it inspired an entire generation of freaks
"Wait a minute... I'M BLIND!" is gonna be in my vernacular for a while now

174. Evil Dead 2 (1987 film)

Pretty good for most of the movie, and really builds on the foundation of the original, with a really stellar final act

173. The Martian (2015 film)

Google Search: Is The Martian based on a true story?

172. Frankenstein (2025 film)

It's a very flawed movie but I liked it overall.
At the very least it's got me interested in reading the original book, which sounds more complex and interesting
