Stumbled upon my notes for my D&D character Korth while cleaning out my Google Drive, I want to do more with this...

Grew up on the streets and among various thieves and pirate crews learning how to survive on the streets, eventually joining a pirate crew for a few years and later leaving them preferring to sail alone. As a result of their abandonment by the undercroft Korth is slow to trust any one and keeps most people at an emotional distance to protect themself from being abandoned again. *rarely, one in every hundred or so clutches of eggs, a child will be born with iridescent markings on their body (more noticeably on their face) showing signs of possible magical potential of a recessive gene from an ancient warrior who through legend is believed to be the reason why the beings of the Undercroft remain below the surface and rarely intervene in “topside affairs”. [the child may never actually possess magical abilities but the inhabitants of the undercroft are a skeptical lot] Screenshot reads: The Undercroft: the undercroft is a vast underground settlement of Lizardfolk. The undercroft is filled with various crystals which provide anything from light to heat, some even have magical properties. The people of the undercroft are now as a whole are accepting of most kinds of magic except that which the “ancient warrior” who forced them underground is rumored to have possessed. Undercroft folk are welcoming of those who stumble upon their safe haven and if they are injured will help heal them, they rarely interfere with events outside of their domain unless it directly causes harm to their way of life (or the royals say otherwise). The undercroft is ruled by a patriarchal leadership. Eggs are collected together after being laid and looked after together as part of the brood, that whole brood is then classed as one family. Infants are assessed as to what skills they have and are educated to hone these skills to further the undercrofts survival.
