Short answer: NO.

Cy would kill his first husband on sight if he ever saw them. He's otherwise amicable w/ his various lovers pre-Ari.

Ari gets visibly ill every time Reggie is around. It's a cross between crying & throwing him off a cliff.

ANNIVERSARY:
They actually have a full day out! First, something Ari likes in the home (usually listening to the radio and playing a boardgame together), then something Cy likes out on the town (usually an opera and dinner).

HOLIDAYS:
They spend big holidays with family and friends.

The Empire of Sesina is a close political ally to their neighbors Hepici. They are trade partners. Sesina recently helped Hepici out w their civil war that led to a lot of Hepici’an soldiers coming over to escape the oppresive regime. There is also a thriving Hepici community in Sesina.

Cy is an openly queer, handsome and (apparently kind and wealthy??) benefactor with sparkly mage powers and a mysterious past. He's also dangerously my MC Ari's type, so he tries to keep away as much as possible (and fails)

Yes and no? Like, while both Ari and Cy believe In the Power of Love TM in general, I don't think they believe it's always a positive force (based on their own exp).
So- Yes! They believe in The Power of Love, but Love is no Better that the Lover.

Ari believes that love is something you have to earn & prove, like a job or a good grade in school. It takes him a while to learn it's not meant to be more pain than pleasure w/ someone who cares about you. Love takes work, not torture.

Both Ari and Cy, for similar but opposite reasons (part or why they both come as a pair, narratively speaking).

Thank you! I put a lot of thought into Ari's design (though I'm very much a writer first, so please bare with me).

He's the main lead of my upcoming webserial & I love him to bits.

Ari loves solving a puzzle, whether it be a tricky engineering feat or engaging board game w/ bricks & patterns

Ari is also a planner, so I think he'd arrange all the bits and bobs for getting the dog washed beforehand(yes w/ cheese)
