and it is immensely freeing in fact! i'm still starting out and acquiring a wardrobe (an insane halting process in itself) and dealing with T body changes and plotting top surgery but i finally reached out and took what I wanted because fuck dignity. fuck survival underwater. i want to live.

The majority of US voters, so far as I can tell, flatly do not care about trans people one way or another. They aren't necessarily especially friendly to them, but they clearly find the notion that they're supposed to obsess over them distinctly offputting. (Despite major efforts by the right!)

Yeah!! I think they were trying to avoid just having Zagreus 2, who was kind of a failson, but they leaned too far in the other direction. There's glimpses of a Mel who is kind of a dour and inflexible meanie, and I liked that version, but I think Supergiant were afraid of alienating players.

...But then in Act 3 it really is just "no I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna kill grandpa!!" and then it's Zagreus who does the "listen to people and empathize a bit" thing, it's really strange and makes me wonder what pressures Supergiant was feeling to push the ending that came about.
