same, and also because i’m fucking insane and my “best” varies considerably week to week and is sometimes objectively Not good enough. you can’t CBT your way out of paranoid delusions about your loved ones, unfortunately
Cognitive behavioral therapy was a bust for me because it requires that one assumes everyone is doing their best at any particular moment. If that is the case, I must assume that thousands of people can't be better than bigots constantly fantasizing about doing harm to me.
