Damn right I was entertained. Happy 25th to this film. Surprised how well this held up. Cleanly told story with incredible visuals & scale, top notch acting & great dialogue.

A really tense & exciting thriller. Of course the robbery long take is the most well known sequence but the whole picture is well shot & directed. Weirdly has a similar yet more tragic ending than High Sierra. The leads are likeable in their roles. Gr8 stuff.

More than decent, this was really good. This is admittedly a very odd movie cause it seems like there's this love-hate dynamic of central romance but surprisingly it remains interesting. Lovely/striking visuals, crackling dialogue & solid performances.

Much like Maltese, this movie is anchored by Boggie however he's in great company with Ida Lupino & Pard the Dog. Some elements such as the bit with the crippled girl didn't amount to much in the end but the main focus of Earle's downfall is still well done
