I also recommend The School that Escaped the Nazis by Deborah Cadbury. The firsthand accounts from 1933 through 1948 - many by men and women who survived the horrors as children - are chilling and the pattern is repeating here and now. We see it and seem powerless to stop it.

I can think of so many ways to truly honor those who serve our country. That travesty wasn't one of them.

My father did everything he should - all the annual checkups and tests and was still diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that took him in less than a year. It happens and it's not anyone's fault.
