I'm sure Wagner/Africa Corps will help them out in exchange for just a tiny bit of natural resources and the willingness to let migrants through when Moscow wants to ramp up the pressure on a clueless EU.

Since the cold war and it's adverse effects on decolonisation prevented the United Nations from being actually united, an important condition for the obligation to take in unlimited refugees has never been met.

New insight: The obligation from the UN refugee treaty from 1951 to take in unlimited refugees, is connected to the idea that the United Nations would provide general world peace with only sparse, local conflicts remaining.
