that's the pds (where your base data lives), not the relay (which i think is the only way to interact with people outside of your pds? which then makes it different than mastodon because relays aren't as mandatory (at the cost of a less effective search)

do you have an official source on that? i couldn't find any, and they never replied when i emailed them about it

genuine question, but isn't the relay made in a way that it'd be insanely expensive to run your own (or you'd see almost no one)? (pretty sure i saw that but i can't find the source anymore, and even if it was true it might not be anymore)
