It is interesting to think of as a personal-history project! I often think about my ancestors and how they were both hardy (surviving such poverty, famine etc) and incurious (didn’t go anywhere else for a better life).

Was very, very disappointed by this segment. I stopped listening regularly a while ago and only drop on when I think they may have a unique take (BBC stories). The drive-by on trans rights was so off-topic. Curious why Lewis Goodall remained silent (was he in this bit of the recording?)

I’m not an expert but I always imagine it as like house value - like your house might on paper by worth £2m but you don’t have £2m in your bank account & no one has actually paid that so it’s sorta…theoretical.
