It is interesting to think of as a personal-history project! I often think about my ancestors and how they were both hardy (surviving such poverty, famine etc) and incurious (didn’t go anywhere else for a better life).

97% of my time in southwest Ireland (where I am actually from) and a brief jaunt to Scotland (2%) and Wales (1%).

Was very, very disappointed by this segment. I stopped listening regularly a while ago and only drop on when I think they may have a unique take (BBC stories). The drive-by on trans rights was so off-topic. Curious why Lewis Goodall remained silent (was he in this bit of the recording?)

They both seem like nice people but this did drive me a bit up the walls at the time - fairly sure she wrote a piece in The Pool or somewhere about it & I was like wtf.

I’m not an expert but I always imagine it as like house value - like your house might on paper by worth £2m but you don’t have £2m in your bank account & no one has actually paid that so it’s sorta…theoretical.
