It's like Twitter in that far too many people here think that NPR is somehow going to save us, but less people openly worship Hitler so that's a plus.

I appreciate the offer. Piracy is easy. I like hard copies of things whenever possible.

It’s funny that you say that because the one coffee that I would single out as never making any progress on dialling in despite the company sending me more of it than any other was a natural blend. It sounds like we have some of the opposite problems!

I simultaneously love the modular/moving parts aspect of it but abhor that the results, in my case, are never particularly well-defined. Occasionally I'll notice one flavour note suggested by the bag, even if faintly, but I never unlock the full intended spectrum and it feels like I'm burning money.

My health situation doesn't leave me with a lot of opportunity for hobbies that involve consuming things and a doctor wanted me to resume my old black-coffee habit a couple of years back so of course I had to get into the most agonizing way of going about it; at least you can do it plastic-free!

Man, you're lucky if you have any sort of set-up that works for you occasionally. if I told you everything I've picked up to try and make good pourover despite virtually never having good results, you'd be liable to have me committed.

That's a neat trick that I haven't heard of anyone doing before. What kettle do you use?

I do have the Mino-yaki wave now which slightly revises the internal design and I use that most often when I reach for a dedicated flat-bottom brewer. Letting it warm up under a hot tap is helpful as well.

I had the regular metal Wave first and didn't run into the stalling problem most people mention. Then I 'upgraded' to the Tsubame wave, which supposedly avoids that problem, and of course I run into channeling on that. I use an Origami Wave M most frequently, ceramic UFO Dripper slightly less often.
