Threatening to use the Notwithstanding Clause to override Supreme Court decisions, regardless of the context, is a major problem. Circumventing the Charter by inventing an "emergency" is authoritarian behaviour and should be met with a resounding NO from Canadians at the polls.

CTV folds like a cheap suit to the detriment of the Canadian public. If CPC wants to be featured less on fact checking content, maybe stop fucking lying? Solidarity with @rachelgilmore.bsky.social , she has shown she is critical of all disinformation regardless of source.
Rolling over to fascists is never a good look but I am not surprised considering Bell owns CTV. You can complain to bell’s ombudsperson here and ask why they want to censor election misinformation at request of the conservatives and what are they trying to hide from voters?

Have been echoing this sentiment. All they need is to signal what they wish to be done and to turn a blind eye to the citizenry doing their dirty work for them.
An efficient facism does not require much direct state violence. It merely requires the assurance that private violence aligned with the desires of the regime will go unpunished.

Trump hated TikTok (because China) until it helped him win an election (as even he acknowledges) and now he’s going to save it and take a victory lap. So he’ll have X, TikTok, Insta, and Facebook all working on his behalf. That’s a big difference between now and 2017.
