Working to discern what's real from what's imagined.
Senator, many Senate Republicans surely oppose this new National Security Strategy. So why will none speak publicly against it?

If it's true as has been reported that they fear for their safety from MAGA thugs' threats, how about a fund to provide them with security details? Would that help?

No hoax - They came right out and said so -

"Russia on Sunday welcomed the Trump administration’s new national security strategy...said the updated strategic document was largely in line with Moscow’s vision."

The top marginal tax rate in the 50s was 91%. We built the interstate highway system, helped veterans buy homes and go to college and more all with a balanced budget. We were in this together, the wealthy and everyone else doing our part for a better America. When did we start tolerating greed?

On his birthday. This is just so grotesque.

Sir, can incorporation charters be rewritten to ensure stakeholder benefit while not necessitating the maximizing of share value over all else?
December 6, 2025 at 12:19 AM
I guess you're not exactly surprised, sir. And we can all agree it's egregious nonetheless.

58% of us want the sham gone, want his policies, his grift and his utter incredulity out of power along with his enablers, true enough. Who is articulating the policies with the sterling character that will make the most of this opportunity? Newsom, Pritzger, Mamdani, Pete, Talarico come to mind.
December 3, 2025 at 11:04 PM
OK, so let this frustrate the sham so mightily that he finally says, darn you, Putin, the U.S. will now dispense with fawning for you and will give Ukraine what it wants, including Tomahawk missiles, so there!

That is a very low price for a Rubens of that size in excellent condition and if real would be offered through a top tier auction house. There must be some significant doubts about its authenticity.

They sure know how to play him. Useful idiot.

"You're in a cult" she said repeatedly.

Two weeks ago we marked 47 years since 900+ followed orders by committing suicide in Jonestown - or if not following those orders, were murdered by others who did.

The definition of cult does seem applicable to this couple.

I had no idea Venezuela is such a prize, oil-wise. So is this more of his fulfillment on the guarantee he made to oil execs - give me a $billion and I'll give you what you want...

And 75 million voted for his second term. It really is hard to fathom. Gallup says even after the Jan 6 riots, he went no lower than 34% approval:

So in the event this episode slides by as one outrage after another has these last several months, does that mean we, too, are sliding irrevocably into lawlessness?

Or aren't we seeing the weight of his actions reflected in his polling and polling results of candidates opposing his policies.

We all could have coached the Russians on how to please the sham - flattery to go along with the plan and $billions as a reward. That Witkoff proxied for us just shows how our president is everyone's useful idiot.

Or did our chances of quantifying a phase-out of fossil fuels increase when the US administration added to our collective shame by ignoring the proceedings? Still maybe this shows how Exxon et al wield the most influence, not the U.S.

Will it require a constitutional amendment, Mr Reich? - in effect voiding SCOTUS decisions granting first amendment rights to corporations by declaring that artificial entities are not people and money is not speech? If so, let's go. Together we make two thirds of Congress and 38 states agree.

The worst of the worst? We're not paying for ICE to have threats to our safety deported. We're paying for thugs on a quota to harass, detain, arrest and/or deport just about anyone with brown skin.

430.

430 ppm CO2 in the atmosphere now when until 100 years ago or so, human civilization for millenia developed with 250.

Carbon holds heat in the atmosphere.

We're piling on blankets of CO2 that like blankets on a bed intensify warmth gradually. And we keep piling them on.
