please listen to and believe israeli ministers when they say they want all palestinians gone from gaza. when they say all palestinians are complicit for oct 7. when they call palestinians human animals. when netanyahu tells the k’nesset they’ve funded hamas because it’s easier to attack than the PA.

The UN has ruled it a genocide. Hamas has agreed to and abided by two separate ceasefires since January and has been willing to negotiate since 2023, Israel has avoided negotiating as much as possible and has violated all three ceasefires they’ve been a part of.

well we do have the standard of being against genocide

the internet is telling me walmart has 2.1 million employees which gets me to 2,802/yr each

Is 2.2M a rounded figure and he/his team used something with more sig figs in the calculation?

that’s the only thing i can think of…

god knows with with the current state of the government that will be difficult. but until that happens ai companies can let their models learn from books so long as the model doesn’t directly repeat the contents - and so long as they got the one copy they need to use legitimately
September 7, 2025 at 5:17 PM
i honestly just don’t think existing copyright laws are strong enough to protect against ai training. we need new, stronger laws if we don’t want companies to be able to do this by purchasing books, movies, art, etc. through otherwise legal channels
September 7, 2025 at 5:14 PM
It’s saying that training an AI model is fair use, but that you still need to acquire the materials legally

i understand the legal argument even though i hate it - if you can ask the ai to spit out a book in the style of an author that doesn’t feel transformative, but that’s hard to argue legally

I love that DC is listed like a state abbreviation, like the city of Washington in the state of District of Columbia

so thanks for supporting DC statehood I guess?

also - and this is probably the crux of it - conservatives hate anything they see as environmentalist. and that’s doubtless the real motivator here

i get that being stuck merging into a one lane section of mass ave kinda sucks, but i do think to some extent cars are just jealous of bikes that are passing them. for me though it’s easy to get stuck behind a cyclist going 15-20 where you can’t get into the left lane to pass them
August 27, 2025 at 1:11 PM
it’s the perfect ploy - lots of attention and they barely need to do anything

all i’m saying is when in three to six months when they go back on this i called it
