I love eggs in all forms and used to have hard boiled ones around as protein snacks but for months they all tasted rancid to me. It eventually corrected thank god.

That happened to me the first time I got it. I could handle no taste but I broke down sobbing because I couldn't smell my dog. Good news is our olfactory senses are so much more nuanced than taste, so smells coming back is a good sign! Taste buds will follow though may be wired "wrong" for a bit.

The ability to feel pain from heat is separate from our sense of smell and taste. The heat sensation is pain receptors being triggered. So a lot of people lose flavor but are still able to feel spicy food with covid. Sadly not sure it would help someone on hot ones 🤣
