"The subtlest and most pervasive of all influences are those which create and maintain the repertory of stereotypes."
That's a misleading photo to use, because that's the XB-52 (a prototype). The B-52 that went into production has a pretty different nose, and the shape of nose varied a lot in later versions! But what's certain is that the band didn't have the early, atypical XB-52 prototype in mind.

It seems to me that it's a bit like this game: unflipgame.com
Unflip Puzzle Game
Select square areas (2x2 or larger) to flip the colors of the tiles. Make all tiles white to win.

Maybe this seems like a non sequitur. What I'm saying is that I might build a live steam miniature locomotive if it wasn't such a logistical drag – and those things are NOT affordable to purchase ready-built www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ihi8...

It's a pretty amusing remote islander experience. There just isn't a market for the ME stuff here so no vendor imports it. Situation in most of the rest of europe/US is very different, I imagine.

The acceptable solution is to sink time into immaterial things like maths and computer science instead.

There are some activities that are difficult to pursue in Ireland. Model engineering: you'll probably need to buy materials from the UK (next island across) regularly. You'll pay high post-Brexit customs charges and wait around for packages, when it should just be a trip to a local city model shop.

I should remark that the quantity Ian Jack describes has the same units as the cant deficiency. Depending on your point of view, this may seem pretty close to accuracy. granta.com/the-1210-to-...

On balance, Jack probably shouldn't have told this just-so story which oversimplifies the dynamics.

By the way, UNIX folks have a tool for this called figlet. It comes with a range of OK fonts and you can, of course, also make your own.
