Attended a nice performance at Muziekpodium DJS in Dordrecht on Saturday. Lucas van Merwijk (drums), Ed Verhoeff (guitar) and Boudewijn Lucas (bass guitar) performed
a varied program based on well-known Dutch songs. DJS is the oldest Jazz Café in the Netherlands 🎸🥁🎸👌

Dutch composer Marco de Goeij composed a beautiful trumpet solo in 2015. I had the privilege to perform the world premiere live for the composer during a recital of the Triple Berry Trio. Enjoyed playing it quite a few times #composer #trumpet #recital #classicalmusic

My brass students in De Lier, The Netherlands on trumpet and trombone in a nice row.
We had last week a fantastic music day with lots of workshops and rehearsals. I was very glad being able to attend this festive day actively as teacher after recovering for more than two months from heart surgery.

In The Hague we have a very good tango school. The past year due to injuries Lisette and I couldn’t follow dance courses. We enjoyed lessons with Lorena & Jory @almadetango a lot. They teach in a very relaxed manner. #tango #tangoles #denhaag #dans

In 'The Chess Revolution' by P. Doggers he states that in addition to the success of online chess, the Netflix series 'Queen's Gambit' has increased enthusiasm for chess among young people. I haven't seen the series myself, but I recently read the book written by Walter Tevis in 1984. Recommended!

Usually I go one day in Januar to the Tata Steel Chess tournament in ‘Wijk aan Zee’ to watch the games and follow the comments. Always I enjoy the spirit of all players and scenery. This year unfortunately I can’t go. Nevertheless I follow at my home the games online organized by chess.com

Recently I have read the Dutch written book ‘The Chess Revolution’ by Dutch author Peter Doggers. It describes the game of chess and all its developments over the centuries. Also interesting is the development of the chess computer in recent decades, resulting in a huge online chess community #chess
