I saw a small "Fuck ICE" sticker on a sign post while on my way to a protest. It wasn't a prominent sign, just a random one in the middle of a side street.

Add to that our local elected officials can't/won't aid us in our defense. We need a lot more fucking people before we can consider this a war we can win. Public opinion is on our side for the moment, who knows about tomorrow... we know the public is very, very fickle. Not trying to be defeatist.

The problem lies in our attempts to defend ourselves; according to all government agencies and the lawyers who may represent us, even if we fight back and miraculously survive, we'll surely be charged by the feds and prosecuted, on top of that our own constitution won't save us in court.

I agree with all of that. 100% Right now I work with groups of individuals like yourself who are in mutual aid networks doing what we can to help those left behind. It'd be nice to have a support system, and monetary infusion, from the state... but Bob is too conservative for that, I'm afraid.

We already have open carry in Washington. 🙄

Good news is, Blovino, Noem and her boytoy are out, soon to be fired. Hopefully, Hoe-man thinks before he does.

sue the federal government for violating said rights. We're now seeing how little our rights really matter. Sorry. 🫤
January 27, 2026 at 6:17 AM
I hate to be the one to say this, because I share your anger and frustration, but according to Bob and those with legal knowledge, not only can a state's governor not prevent federal officers from being in the state, they can't prosecute violations of our constitutional rights nor can we
January 27, 2026 at 6:17 AM
I 100% agree with you on that. I was remarking to someone else in this thread that, although he seems like a nice guy, he's got Neo-liberal and conservative ideas regarding budget and spending.
January 27, 2026 at 6:14 AM
That said, I understand your skepticism.

I remain somewhat hopeful that it'll be different for WA. In trumps first term it was the WA AG's office that won the most cases against the administration being helmed by Ferguson. I hope they have the same zeal when it comes to civil rights/constitutional violations for citizens.

You're welcome!

This will be trauma for many generations to come and will foment distrust and hate for the government for a very, very long time.
January 27, 2026 at 4:26 AM
That's a very good point and the one I consider most. However, if they're violating the constitution during the encounter (4th amendment, lets say), would that make a difference? That is, if the person survives.

That's great, welcome! I'm lucky that I got to grow up here. It's my favorite place in the U.S. - I wouldn't live anywhere else.

I'm curios to get your reading on what the AG and governor said regarding citizens watching ICE and it's relation to legal conceal carry in such situations.

You know what they say, left coast is best coast.

Fair enough ☺️

I'll see if I can set you up in some trans social circles. I don't run in them much anymore, but I still know people. 😀👍

Ha, ha! Having lived in Kent for a bit I completely understand.

I've lived here my whole life and thankfully I hadn't run into any until the 2010's. They were always the losers, creepers or lost kids looking for some familial connection. Now they're the dude working at Safeway with the knife tattoo over his eye.
