Nice looking pile! I am hoping to read a Bell Hooks book in June if I can get my reading mojo back. Finn hasn't been himself for about a week now and worrying about him destroyed my mojo on top of everything else happening in this world!

Politicians always do this. The Halifax mayor swam in the harbour to prove it was safe. It still was not safe. Ridiculous.

That's scary. I know so many people on Ozempic.

I am going to point my mother in his direction because I know that she struggles with her religion. I have worked on her being WOKE. She even voted liberal in our most recent election. (I am in Canada). But, a priest tried something with her when she was a kid.

When he was selected I was like oh, great, an American pope. That's exactly what we need! Then I found out he is not a Trump supporter. I like him already! My mother's family is Catholic, I am not. My mother had a bad experience and left as an adult.

The US is more strict about what I read than my parents were and my parents were pretty strict!

I can only stand her for a minute or 2. All she does is lie and answer without answering. Drives me insane.

I am sorry for your loss. I struggled with adding Obituary Writer to mine. Like, death happens, but it's so hard!
April 5, 2025 at 4:37 AM
Yes! That's scary. And, you know what, maybe if the news started explaining what is happening right now through animals, people will get it! (I also love animals and get more upset about a dog dying than a person in books & movies. But, still!)

Exactly! We could also discuss The Handmaid's Tale....

Every time I read a book with any connections to WWII, it freaks me out how similar things seem to be. But, all the supporters of these political powers are mostly anti-vaxxers. In WWII, in Canada at least, one of the questions was will you get a vaccine if needed. Times have changed some...

My answer is always Anne. We could all use some of her happiness in our life! But, honestly all your choices look good. I also struggle with that whole what to read next thing. lol (And using Bluesky. This is the first time since like last year. haha)

I listen to Matthew Perry's book in January, too! I think it is a totally different experience reading it now that he has passed than it would have been if he was still alive. I am not even sure if I would have read it!
