I mean *I* can shit about Charlotte because I lived there for 30 years, and my complaint is that soulless real estate developers have torn down so much of its unique and cool stuff in favor of luxury mixed use developments. But unless they can say the same, then they better keep it out their mouths.

Seems to be. Not that critics are the deciding factor by any means, but even the less favorable reviews are saying it's not bad.

I can see the comments now: "Oh you're mad that the mooks are damage sponges? Well that's how classic arcade beat-em-ups were!"

Classic arcade beat-em-ups were designed to wring out every last quarter from the pockets of hapless kids. There's literally no reason for it in a modern console/PC game.

They're getting dangerous immigrant criminals off the street! Like a 15 year old who got caught stealing a Twix from WaWa once! Or a 60 year old woman who got a ticket for running a stop sign in 1983. DANGEROUS CRIMINALS, I SAY!

"Who can we get to host this officially licensed HP podcast?"
"I know! How about a comedian who plays D&D alongside multiple trans people, and is an outspoken ally, on a channel that never wastes an opportunity to mock HP, and is hosted by a guy who is on record explaining in detail why it's dumb?"

Oh and they told me it was just a standard "consent to treatment" form that they had forgotten to have me sign initially. I was like 19-20 and had never had major dental work done before, so I didn't know better than to sign it.
December 3, 2025 at 5:56 PM
Turns out it was a long-winded agreement to pay an additional $800 on top of the $350 they quoted me.
December 3, 2025 at 5:54 PM
Not enough is said about how the entire dental industry is a scam. I needed emergency dental work once, and I didn't have insurance, so I went to a dentist that advertised as being for lower income people. They gave me a big packet of papers to sign while the dentist was actively drilling my teeth.

I swear, hitting someone unexpectedly with Leaves From the Vine is becoming the new version of Rick-Rolling, except... y'know... with trauma instead of a cheesy 80s earworm.

There's plenty set in Baltimore where I currently live. But unfortunately I'm from Charlotte, and the only movies I can think of that actually take place there are Masterminds, which is about the Loomis Fargo Heist, and Days of Thunder, which is a NASCAR movie. A few were filmed there though so 🤷‍♀️

Like imagine if Haim Saban directed a Power Rangers movie, but it was just about a group of genetically engineered army rangers with guns fighting some random aliens, and there was no Zords, morphing, or anything else.

I always just assumed they had a stinker of a movie on their hands, and slapped the FF name on it to try and salvage it at the box office, but I just looked it up, and it was directed by the creator of the franchise. I have just...so many questions.

Honestly the only reason I tried it, but I'm so happy I did 😂

I just don't believe the story period. I think the entire story of the Romans crucifying Jesus was made up much later to lean into the persecution narrative and gain sympathy.
November 19, 2025 at 3:19 PM
Exactly! If the Temple leaders came to him complaining about a noisy heretic, he probably would have crucified THEM for wasting his time
November 19, 2025 at 2:55 PM
The Romans barely tolerated the existence of Judaism. Even to keep the peace, I can't see them agreeing to make a big show of crucifying a guy who literally told his followers to pay their taxes to Rome as long as they also paid their tithes to God, just because he pissed off the Temple.
November 19, 2025 at 2:51 PM
The thing that's always stuck in my craw about the story of Jesus is why would the Romans give a damn about him? Sure there was persecution of Christians when the movement started growing outside of Palestine, but the primary complaint against him was that he was preaching blasphemy against Judaism.
