It's impossible to narrow this topic to a handful of stories, but I want us to look closely together at Mavis Gallant and Elizabeth McCracken's ghost stories "From the Fifteenth District" and "Something Amazing" (two favorites), and magical realism in Gabo's "A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings."
