I think "both sides"-ing makes people like Ezra feel not just more intelligent, but somehow better than others. Plus, they get rewarded by "both sides" of the status quo for playing along.

I don't see why Hamas would give up any hostages, any of their leverage, since it is now clear this will not stop Israel's ethnic cleansing campaign against Palestinians. I would focus on communicating people's suffering to the outside world to empower Westerners to pressure their governments.

This new 'guidance' should scare free market capitalists. If shareholder rights could be undermined in this way, then shareholders are already losing power in the very companies they own.

The decision hasn't been made and I expect there will be pushback, since the legal way to deal with this is to declare bankruptcy, sell the assets and reimburse the debt holders. Let's see.
My question is, if BS was so important to the UK, why did they allow a foreign buyer to purchase it?

If taxpayers are bailing them out, is the business getting nationalised? What are taxpayers getting in return for their money? This would be a ludicrous proposal in any other situation.

Arguably, Canadians voted to AVOID changes like the ones happening in the US, like the erosion of trans rights and reproductive rights, as well as the concentration of wealth. So maybe get on those things as well and put words into LAW.
Why are capital gains still taxed separately from income? 🤔
