The SeaTac car camping would not fly at any other airport I regularly go to.

Little wet today in Seattle.

First new building in downtown Port Orchard in my lifetime. On the water too! Four floors with 39 units and a small commercial space.

You know what's also cool is fully funding and building out a complete system of protected bike lanes so scooter riders don't have to make this kind of choice. 🚲

What's the point of ADA/PROWAG rules if utilities can just put their equipment wherever they want? This is a tension cable for a utility pole.

The light rail traffic alert and this light rail headline are about two different incidents! Come on!

Although I miss Capitol Hill,
the light rail disruptions are now so regular and extensive that I actually have no interest in living next to a Link station. I am resigned to commuting by bus.

Well there goes my commute, literally. Spokane Street Bridge really needs to not open during peak hours like all of the other moving bridges in Seattle.

Can't wait to read Life After Cars.

Massive No Kings protest and march in Seattle today, as seen from the Monorail.

Using public records like this is one of the dirtiest things I have ever seen in a campaign.

There's a few people going to the Mariners game today. Seems like we should run more trains before and after major events!

Whole lotta light rail "coming soon."

Got asked by someone if this train is heading north. No one knows where or what Lynnwood is. Sound Transit should really put directional names on its signage (northbound, southbound).

Good morning.

Before this project there was no fence between the road and abandoned railroad tracks so I'm not sure why it was necessary now. The chain link is ugly and hems you in for two-thirds of a mile. With no easy escape routes it could be a safety problem.

Some more photos of the route. It's probably the only overbuilt bike facility in Seattle, with two-way paths on both sides of the street on the south end.

West Seattle bike commuters: The off-street trail on Marginal Way is finally open! It truly does make the ride safer and more comfortable, really appreciate all the people that made it happen. Still gotta plug your ears for train horns at Atlantic Street, though.

This is working despite no one staffing the vehicle entrance off 1st Avenue anymore. Seems that driver behaviors have already changed. It might also help that apparently Google Maps doesn't suggest turning into there and the other side streets are blocked by construction.

It's a rainy weekday in October and Pike Place is as busy as any sunny summer weekend. I think the disappearance of non-essential car traffic is a huge help. This setup should be made permanent.

The only thing I can think of that unites Texas and California in the movie "Civil War" is the president tried to ban cars.

Bus lane blocked by kayaks as usual. I guess @seattledot.bsky.social has no interest in enforcing rules here.

Nice big trees can fit in the public right-of-way. Why don't the tree lovers embrace that idea?

In case you were wondering if wooden bollards provide any safety from out-of-control cars. The answer is no.
