I hope you're being sarcastic and know that the original Internet was a series of nodes relaying messages from server to server. If not, look up the origins of internet relay chat distribution. Messages were not always instantaneous like they are now.

Another aspect of distributed solar and wind power is that an enemy can't bomb a country into darkness. When the war in Ukraine ends I doubt they will rebuild with a traditional energy grid structure. Their legacy Soviet system is not reliably defensible (but Russia's oil refineries even less so).

Does the future market prediction for AI compute resources really support this level of scaling? Seems like there is not a competitive advantage akin to what Google being first with search enjoyed as this scaling is occurring among parallel entities. Preparation for a surveillance state environment?
