Ash fell from the original eruption as far as Indiana and beyond. I also have ash from the eruption. I lived in Tacoma at the time. A friend who worked for the forest service brought me ash and pumice from the May eruption.

This is true. Been through it with relatives 3 times. The checks stop immediately. As does access to their online SS records.
