The part that irritates me the most is that "It's a distraction" implies that they are only doing it to draw attention away from something else. They were always going to do all of this! Even without the Epstein files, they'd still be strong arming Venezuela and invading liberal cities.

This is the exact issue I have with a lot of "cozy" games. Ignoring or downplaying the growth incentivised by the gameplay loop isn't cute or subversive, its just frustrating! Massive scale resource extraction doesn't become innocent just because you are nice to your neighbors.

Also, if they were doing a smaller prequel to 4, why wouldn't they do something like Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeros? Showing off the the new gameplay and what they've done with the engine would generate way more hype than DLC for the old game.

I was an edge lord cyber teen who was obsessed with using free alternative software to "stick it to the man."

I think the largest machine that actually moves is either the Prelude FLNG, or the Pioneering Spirit, deepening on your definition of largest. Prelude takes up over twice as much space, but the Spirit is over 100,000 tons heavier.

Similarly, pistols doing more damage than an SMG that uses the same round. Outside of accounting for velocity (which should usually favor an SMG), a 9mm is going to hit the same no matter what is shooting it!

Damn, if there are 4 quest counters on Airbender Ascension, you can have its end step trigger resolve first to flicker the reanimated vehicle* to dodge the trigger that returns it to hand! That's a really solid combo!
*The vehicle has to be crewed or animated, but that should be trivial.
