On the loneliest of days,
I find you there.

You are the waking nightmare.
A phantom of happier days.

To shake up my dreary daze,
And lurk about my darkened room.

Onze Rouw

Grief can be suffocating.
And so too.
Love can rob us of breath.

When the words cannot come.
But instead,
is conveyed through touch.

So we dance around the notion.
Of what it's like to be vulnerable in safe arms.
Instead of the bed of thorns we're so used to sleeping on.
