I think we need to introduce extensive regulation on data collection that makes social media, online advertising, and data scraping infeasible in its current form. It won't solve every problem of the current Internet, but I think it would knock out a lot of it.

Cool. Can you have empathy for the 40% of Texans who voted against this? It's even more when you consider this is all happening near Austin, one of the largest Democratic voting parts of the state.

I'm inclined to believe that Mamdani was also successful because of the strong WFP and DSA presence in NYC as well as RCV's ability to create coalitions between aligned candidates instead of worrying about splitting votes. Do you think lightning can strike in cities without these elements?
