Our visitor centre is open on the remaining three weekends of the month. You may know our boat trips have been suspended due to low water. Llanymynech Canal Wharf will offer you an ideal vantage point to watch your friends or family who are taking part in the Montgomery Canal Triathlon this weekend.

The wharf building will be open from 11 am with outside seating, hot and cold drinks and ice creams.

All spectators welcome!

We are almost in our last month of opening Llanymynech Canal Wharf to the public on weekends.

Volunteers at Llanymynech Canal Wharf wish you a relaxing Bank Holiday weekend.

They can’t offer boat trips but can offer a warm welcome at the visitor centre with light refreshments, gift shop and information about the Montgomery Canal.

Open Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday 1.30 – 4pm.

As guardians of the only known example of a canal narrowboat built at JCB we use our funds to maintain the George Watson Buck for future generations. This weekend our volunteers at Llanymynech Canal Wharf painted the newly reinstalled alligator figurehead.

Even though volunteers at Llanymynech Canal Wharf are unable to run boat trips at present due to low water, they still have to pay for the community boat's maintenance. Could you chip in?

Volunteers do much more than just look after the canal. At Llanymynech this sign was cleaned and litter picked up from the car park. Not sure why litter is left when a) there's a bin nearby and b) people could easily take it home...
