In the culture & history talks I 've been hosting for my local scene (and others) I approached the topic of Jazz dances* on similar grounds. Can't have the fun without the history, the social context or the difficult conversations we need to be having.

Voll d'accord... Wobei sich bei mir oft der Verdacht einstellt, wie viel davon nur perfomativ ist - a.k.a. Clout chasing - aber langfristig den Diskurs verunmöglicht.
Worse yet, wenn diese Performance-Motivierten dann auf die andere Seite kippen und sich mit Rechten und Reaktionären verbünden.
