“For a lot of people, an oppressor has been vanquished. A person who promoted harmful ideas. A person who contributed to their continued harm. For a lot of people, Charlie Kirk’s death means that a significant arbiter of violence toward them is gone. Why wouldn’t people feel relief or even rejoice?”

The HIV vaccine research program is being gutted. 1/3 of the oversight team including myself were fired by DOGE cuts and they are forbidden from doing work in South Africa which crippled the ongoing work.
